HRI-EU has expertise in a broad range of fields such as machine learning, data analysis, big data and risk prediction. Recently, a small and diverse team of HRI-EU colleagues took part in the ESA Collision Avoidance Challenge, which took place from 16 th October to 16 th December 2019.
It was the task of this challenge to build a model for predicting the collision risk of a given satellite and a second object based on real-world conjunction data messages (CDMs). We are happy to announce that our team (account name: sesc) managed to achieve the first place in this competition, and we congratulate the team for the great performance. This result demonstrates our capability to flexibly handle a wide range of research questions.
