Novel artificial intelligence systems meet millennia-old natural intelligence systems: human brains. What could be large scale consequences of human-AI interaction? We had the pleasure to welcome PD Dr. Magnus Liebherr from University of Duisburg-Essen, head of the DGPs-Section Engineering Psychology, in our Scientific Seminar.

Based on numerous user studies with AI systems varying from generative AI, over automated vehicles to decision-support systems, Magnus showed how these complex technologies transform core cognitive functions such as attention, memory, decision-making, and executive control. And, moreover, how individual traits and capabilities shape human-AI interaction. Engaged discussions about intercultural differences in expectations towards AI systems emerged, which will continue in the future. Looking forward to further exchange!
