ECOLE (Experience-based COmputation:
Learning to optimisE) is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) for early stage researchers (ESRs) funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program. On 14. and 15. of October 2019, HRI-EU hosts the ECOLE project meeting in Offenbach.
On both days, we bring together ESRs, supervisors and administrative staff of all four partners – University of Birmingham, Leiden University, NECLE and HRI-EU – for inspiring talks and scientific exchange about machine learning and optimization for real-world applications as well as project management and patenting processes in industrial environments. The meeting also comprises a guided hands-on workshop for the ESRs to progress in designing a common project demonstrator integrating their research and learned soft skills during the workshop.
