In this talk, we will summarize our insights gathered during the ESA space collision avoidance challenge that took place end of 2019. After applying a wide set of techniques and algorithms we came to the conclusion that the structuring of train and test hampers automatic regression or machine learning. Thus, we rather implemented a step-by-step pipeline that is based on statistical and data analysis of the available data. This manual engineered pipeline was ranked overall first after the end of the competition.
